The CMS (Combined Medical Services) Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in India to recruit candidates for various medical services positions in central government services. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962.
Age Limit: Generally, candidates must be between 21 and 32 years of age. Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government norms.
Educational Qualification: A medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized university or institution.

Subject: Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive Social and Community Medicine

Marks: 250
Duration: 2 hours

Focus: Evaluates the candidate’s personality traits, medical knowledge, suitability for medical services, and interpersonal skills.
For Paper I: General Medicine and Pediatrics:
General Medicine: Internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, infectious diseases, etc.
Pediatrics: Growth and development, common pediatric disorders, immunization, and pediatric emergencies.
For Paper II:
Surgery: General surgery, orthopedic surgery, surgical techniques, and management of surgical emergencies.
Gynecology & Obstetrics: Obstetric care, gynecological disorders, antenatal and postnatal care.
Preventive Social and Community Medicine: Epidemiology, biostatistics, social medicine, and preventive measures for common diseases.
